The GNU compiler (GCC) is included with many Linux distributions. However, if it is not, then run the following command based the Linux distribution. Sudo permissions will be needed for the installation.
DEBIAN BASED (Ubuntu, Debian):
apt-get install gcc
OR
sudo apt-get install gcc
RPM BASED (Fedora, Red Hat):
yum install gcc
OR
sudo yum install gcc
