If i develop a toolbox will mathworks be interested in buying it?

if i develop a "toolbox" like application and i want to sell it, how should i go about it? Will mathworks be interested in buying it?

My opinion is that it would have to be fairly complete and well thought out and well documented for Mathworks to be interested. It would also have to address a market niche that Mathworks is targeting. Information on Mathworks' strategic marketing plans is, as far as I know, not made public.
You would probably have more success selling your application yourself. Mathworks is (generally) willing to add listings for third-party applications to its directory.

I believe Mathworks has in the past acquired some entire companies in order to get technology it was interested in.
I am not very familiar with the origins of the various toolboxes.
If I understand correctly, there is a regular over in the Newsgroup who worked with Mathworks on some of the key sparse mathematics routines; http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/authors/908 . I do not recall him ever talking about the financial arrangements. Note: his work was not a toolbox.
