Hi, Do you know if it's possible to model vibrations in VRML, such that you could visualize a vibrating beam in Simulink 3D Animation?
I haven't been able to find any examples or discussions on modeling flexible elements in Simulink 3D Animation, so I figured I'd ask around.
I'm thinking if you modeled (in Simulink), the deflections (say in y-direction) as a function of beam length (say x-direction), then it seems feasible to write code for an body in VRML that would reflect this function, i.e. y(x).
Thanks for any help.

Hi Chad, apologies for the very late response. This is possible but tricky. You would likely need to model this as multiple bodies, and control the position of each as you have suggested to achieve this in Simulink 3D Animation.
Simscape Multibody does have some flexible body capabilities worth checking out as well.
