To whom it may concern,
One of our faculty is currently running Mac OS 10.5.8 on his laptop. We have tried to update his license for from within matlab. Mathworks site seems to accept our login to update license, but doesn't in fact update.
We would like to avoid installing the latest version of matlab if possible.
Thanks. Ron

Can you specify what "update" is, as you seemingly do not prefer to update the product release? Does this end user for some reason have a license file that is expiring?
If this is related to updating the license file's expiration date and it is not a trial and you do not get an error message, then you might want to call MathWorks installation support.

Thank you for your reply... We have an academic site licence at McGill. With this master site license, we can grant annual stand-alone licenses to our researchers. In this particular case, researcher does not wish to upgrade his laptop OS, and simply wants to renew his stand alone license. Generally, we use our Mathworks credentials to a download a new stand-alone license within Matlab itself, which automatically renews licensing. This time around (even though Matlab seems to accept the new license file without an error), the software does not seem to update its licensing, and therefore continues the expiration countdown. We're not actually trying to install software, rather simply trying to update matlab licensing.
