MATLAB student suite license

Hello Please I wanna ask something again about the MATLAB student suite's license? If I purchase this license version will it be valid for just 1 year or it will be indefinite? I asked this question here yesterday and I got an answers that says it's idenfinite, but the distributer in my country said it's just 1 year. I want just to get the correct and full information about the license before I purchase it from the online store. Greetings all

I want to get the graduate student MATLAB license and some other tool boxes. I selected those tools along with matlab. Here my doubt is 1. please tell me the validity of that matlab license. 2. Can extention of that license is possible or not. 3. After purchasing of MATLAB and some matlab toolboxes license, can i include some other toolboxes or can i add some more addon toolboxes after purchasing (after a month or after some days) of present toolboxes? please clarity my doubts.
  1. Student licenses can be used during the time you are enrolled in a degree-granting institution. As long as you are a grad student you can use the license; if you stop being a grad student, you need to stop using the license until you become a grad student again.
  2. You can purchase software maintenance service that permits you to update to new releases as long as you are paid up. The service is good for one year each time you pay. If you let it expire, that just means that you cannot upgrade MATLAB to newer versions, but you could continue to use your MATLAB license anyhow (as long as you are a student.)
  3. Yes, you can purchase additional toolboxes later. Toolboxes that you purchase with the original order are less expensive -- about $US10 each instead of about $US29 each.
Please look over the list of toolboxes carefully!! Any toolbox that is not listed at https://www.mathworks.com/store/link/products/student/SV cannot be purchased for Student licenses! For example, MATLAB Compiler cannot be purchased for student licenses; 5G Toolbox cannot be purchased for student licenses.
I'm going to purchase MATLAB and Simulink student suite single license R2020b to install in our laptop, please help clarify some concercing below:
  1. The warranty time and the validity time for MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite (single license R2020b). Can I upgrade new version during validity time?
  2. How to purchase this kind of license? Purchase using Visa or Master Card, one user for one license or multi licenses?
  3. How to get the license after purchaing? When I purchase, a licence will be sent to our emai, am i right?
  4. How to active my license?
Please help clarify my concercing.
Software rarely has a meaningful warrantee, as long as it does something vaguely similar to what was advertised. However, there is a period during which you can return the software for full refund. I am not sure how long that refund period is for the Student license.
The Student license that you can get through the online store is a perpetual license: the original purchaser can use the software indefinitely into the future -- but only while they are registered with an appropriate degree granting institution. The software does not stop working, but when you graduate (and are not in continuing education afterwards), you would no longer be authorized to use it.
When you purchase the Student license through the online store, as part of the purchase price, you get one year of Software Maintenance Service (SMS). You are entitled to use any new version that is released while you SMS is valid; you can renew your SMS yearly to continue to be covered. Typically there are two major releases per calendar year -- so if you were to purchase right now, you would be entitled to R2021a and R2021b during the first year of SMS. But if you were to wait approximately one month to late March, then R2021a would have been released, and the one year would cover R2021b and R2022a. Knowing that does not help if you need the software now .
With regards to purchasing the license: in many parts of the world, licenses can be purchased online using credit cards, using the MATLAB store. In some parts of the world, however, sales are handled by distributors. I am not certain where you are located, as I find people with names similar to yours in multiple countries. However, your name appears to be Vietnamese, and if you just happen to be located in Vietnam then you might have to purchase through a distributor who is located in Singapore; https://www.mathworks.com/company/aboutus/contact_us.html#VN
I am not sure how sales through a distributor are handled. Sales of student licenses through the online store would involve activation keys (not license numbers!) being emailed out.
Dear Walter Roberson !
So I can summary some points. Please confirm if am i right.
  1. MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite (single license R2020b) is a perpetual license.
  2. After purchasing, i get one year of Software Maintenance Service (SMS). It means that we can upgrade new version during this year.
  3. After i purchase, one activation key should be sent to our mail. Then i can active softwave by myseft or by Sale of student license.
And i have more questions below:
  1. What kind of email that MATLAB requires to purchase MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite?
  2. One MATLAB account (ex. with 1 email of Monitor) can purchase 1 MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite (single license) only or purchase multi licenses? What is policy for this?
  3. If purchase multi licenses, they can use only 1 Credit Card or need to multi Credit card accorrding.
Please help clarify.
Proof of university enrolment may be required, and typically the easiest way is to use a university email address.
Licences cannot be distributed or resold, except in a small number of countries that have laws that explicitly permit resale, such as Denmark and Germany.
For situations such as one person acting on behalf of a group of people (for example individual students do not always have credit cards) you would need to contact Mathworks sales.
Students are not required to go through SMS and so one student can end up with multiple licenses (such as for different releases.) Also since student licences are only valid on one device at a time and students might have multiple devices (such as desktop and laptop) it is implied that students can have multiple active licenses.
Note: I do not work for Mathworks and I have never had a student license (I had already graduated before Mathworks started), so details like these need to be checked with Mathworks.

You need to contact Mathwork Sales about that. The volunteers here do not know what arrangements might have been made with distributors in different countries.
If you are able to use the online store https://www.mathworks.com/store/link/products/student/new then the rule that applies is https://www.mathworks.com/store/link/faq#student
"For how long can I use student software?
You can use student software indefinitely. After you graduate you may need to purchase a professional license."
If you are not able to use the online store then other rules might apply to you and you need to talk to Sales about that.

On the FAQ section it says:
" For how long can I use student software? You can use student software indefinitely. After you graduate you may need to purchase a professional license."
and
" Can I update my student software? Yes, you can update student software by subscribing to MathWorks Software Maintenance Service. Your purchase of a student software license includes a one year subscription of MathWorks Software Maintenance Service."
So, I understad that student software should last as long as you are a student, while the "Software Maintenance Service" will just last one year.

Right. However, those apply to licenses purchased directly through Mathworks. Licenses purchased through a distributor in a country might have different conditions, potentially.
