i'm trying some method of compression on wav files but i still don't know how to get the compression ratio. i know the compression ratio is the size of uncompressed data divide by the size of compressed data. then, how to calculate the size of the audio data?

Use dir() to retrieve the 'bytes' that the file occupies.
Compression ratio of audio files is not often of interest, because audio files are permitted to contain a lot of information as well as the audio itself. For example the audio file might contain information about the Artist, Track Title, Album, Track Number, Genre, Album Cover, and so on.
