How can I represent a complex type number as a binary type number in order implement a serial communication between my PC and a FPGA?

2 views (last 30 days)
I developed an UART for HDL Code generation. Because I want to implement a serial communication between my PC and a FPGA.
%Main function
function xt = ofdm(x)
%this function returns a xt which is a complex type number
%UART function
function tx=uart(rx)
%this uart works with single bits (bstar b0 b1 b2 b3 b4 b5 b6 b7 bstop)
My question is If there is a method to represent xt (complex type number) into binary in order to use my uart function to send data (xt) from the FPGA to my PC.
