In my project i have to take two images from a live video for edge detection, and i'm using getsnapshot() function but the two images taken are the same without change. Is there different function i can use for the same purpose?

Hi,
A demo code is available in MATLAB, 'demoimaq_GetSnapshot.m'. Type 'demoimaq_GetSnapshot.m' in your MATLAB editor. This has examples of how to get multiple frames using the same video object.

If you called it twice, they should be different images. You may not see a difference if nothing in your scene changes, but there should be a difference though it may be only video noise and very slight.
