trouble with dipimage install

I cannot figure out why the system fails to find required libraries. I have followed the installation instructions: <ftp://qiftp.tudelft.nl//DIPimage/latest/docs/dipimage_user_manual.pdf>

I used "Set Path" to verify that /Applications/dip is on my Matlab search path.

I’m running:

R2014b (8.4.0.150421)
64 bit (maci64)
September 15, 2015

I installed:

dip image release: dipimage_2.7_darwin.tbz

When I open matlab:

Initialisation of DIPlib failed. 

…

Summary of Library locations:
     libdip.dylib not found
     libdipio.dylib  not found
     libdml_mlv7_9.dylib not found
     /Applications/dip/common/mlv7_9/diplib/private/dip__initialise.mexmaci64 (11-Dec-2014 08:32:36)

 Some or all of the relevant libraries were not found.

If I ask “which”, the “return” shows the correct file (path):

>> which libdip.dylib
/Applications/dip/Darwin/lib/libdip.dylib
>> which libdipio.dylib
/Applications/dip/Darwin/lib/libdipio.dylib
>> which libdml_mlv7_9.dylib
/Applications/dip/Darwin/lib/libdml_mlv7_9.dylib

So, they seem to indeed be on the "path". What is wrong?

Nope, and no one has answered. I had also asked the question to the dipimage folks: [e-mail]

I received this answer today: Dear Steve, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We've updated the installation manual. Due to new security precaution in OS X 10.10 and higher it is now only possible to copy (or move) the dylib files to the /usr/local/lib directory. For more information check:

I ran this command in terminal (El Capitan Mac OS): mv /Applications/dip/Darwin/lib ~/lib

Matlab now opened and it found dip libraries. Running the command 'dipimage' initialized the DIPimage display, etc. So, seemed to work...

Does anyone have this problem right now? I try to install dipimage but i keep getting this same error:

I did move the files to /usr/local/lib but matlab still can not find these file.. does someone have a solution?
