Compatibility issue - SimPowerSystem - 2013a to 2015b - non-existent field error

1 view (last 30 days)
I have a SimPowerSystem model developed in 2013a. The Upgrade Advisor report (for 2015b) provides the following error:
"Error occurred during model compile.
Error in 'File_Name/Universal Bridge': Initialization commands cannot be evaluated.
Reference to non-existent field 'ExternalGateDelay'."
When the model is pulled up in 2015b, what used to be a simple three phase diode rectifier (without gate control) is now shown as a universal bridge with a gate control input. There is not an option to remove the gate input, and selecting Diode option under the mask simply returns the same "Reference to non-existent field 'ExternalGateDelay'." error. When I try to simply insert a replacement Three Phase Rectifier from the 2015b block library (of which is now blue with red connection letters), I am unable to connect block into the model. (Red circle with line through it). One other anomaly, that may be related, when I open the Power GUI block, It will not close when the Red X is selected. I certainly hope I do not have to rebuild the entire model.

Hello,
I have the same problem when I'm trying to open a legacy model in Matlab R2016b. Have you come across a solution for this issue ?
Thanks,

Wes, there is a option to change the universal bridge to a diode bridge which eliminates the gate port. Please see the Power Electronic Device section of the help documentation and the image below.
The block blocks with red connectors are from the Simscape Electrical library, not Sim Power Systems. The connections can be converted from simscape electrical to power systems by using the a comibanation of measurement and simscape to power system blocks.
Run the command power_SSCmodeling in Matlab to open an example that shows you how to interface Power Sytems and Simscape blocks
