Installing Matlab 2016a on Ubuntu

Hello, I am currently a new linux user and have recently gotten a new version of Matlab through the University of Houston. However, I am having quite some difficulty running the installation files and have tried to mount the directory through the terminal but nothing has happened. It would be great if I could get a walk through with someone here.

Hi,
Could you please mention what exact error message or issue that you are facing. Also please provide details on the version of Ubuntu and MATLAB that you are trying to install.
