Every time when matlab is open, it says: could not get change notification handle for local C. Need help!

Warning: Could not get change notification handle for local C:\Users\Documents\MATLAB. Performance degradation may occur due to on-disk directory change checking.

I received this error message after accidentally adding a lot of directories to my Matlab path. Once I removed all the unneeded directories from my Matlab path, the error message didn't come back.
