implementation of a command in DSP using matlab/similunk (just simulation without hardware)

hi guys ,im i new user here of matlab/simulink workspace and i know some basics operations ,i have to implement a command (any command ex :asynchronous machine) on DSP ,using matlab/simulink . i have no idea how should i proceed ,and what are steps to follow... i need just exemples if there is for such a simulation thanks in advance :)
