I get "Warning: Failed to draw text string" for all my figures

1 view (last 30 days)
I was making a simple gui when I found that I couldn't render strings in figures any more. Now if I enter a command like
plot([1 2],[3 4])
the figure won't have any numbers on the axis. I can't add titles, or axis labels. Text in buttons seem to work, though.
Anyone know how to fix this? I really wasn't purposely changing any of the text rendering settings.
Thanks, -tony
Oh, I'm using MATLAB R2009a on 64-bit Windows Vista Enterprise if that makes a difference.

Possibly you have somehow switched your default font.
Compare
get(0,'Default')
with
get(0,'Factory')
to see if you have changed a default setting in a way that was not intended.

Thanks for the quick response!
So actually I noticed that my Chrome browser failed to render text on certain websites. So I thought it might be an os level problem and checked for updates. There happened to be an update waiting to be installed. After installing and restarting the figures are back to normal.
I don't know if it was all the same problem or just voodoo, but either way, thanks again for your help Walter.
