If you have the Image Processing Toolbox, you could start by trying regionprops. This allows you to measure various parameters of each object; you probably then need to analyse the results for some known objects to work out which combination of parameters distinguishes the different object classes best.

You could use a 2d-peak finder on a binarized version of the image. Search File exchange for some examples and see https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/127449-mobile-phone-astrometry-explorer. Yolu could also use regionprops on a binarized image to find the bright regions - it will return the centers and radii. You might try a median filt first.
