Generic Engine will not engage

I am aiming to create a Hybrid electric vehicle architecture with four wheel drive to simulate wide-open-throttle. I also aim to introduce a DCT.
I cannot get the Generic Engine to work individually - it will run at the initial 'idle' rpm and then fail.
I cannot work out why it produces no torque to my gearbox at all, I have used many 'Generic Engine' Models as references too.
Sometimes, it fails fast due to the maximum engine speed being reached, without any torque being produced or any drive happening. Almost as if a car is in neautral, for example.
There are no error codes attached.

I have been facing a similar problem too!

From a look at the your model, the main issue seems to be the driveline connection between the engine and the transmission. In your model, the path is Generic Engine -> Ideal Torque Source -> Ideal Torque Sensor -> Transmission. The Ideal Torque Source is an active source block that applies torque from its input signal, so it is not acting like a simple shaft connection. Because of that, the transmission is not just receiving engine torque through a normal mechanical path, and that is the most likely reason i can think of due to which the model is not giving the torque you expect.
The idle-like behavior also seems to match the current engine settings. The engine starts at 700 rpm, the idle controller is off, and the throttle input is limited to 0.4 by the saturation block, so the model is not really configured for a wide-open-throttle test yet.
As a debugging step, I would suggest you first remove the Ideal Torque Source unless you intentionally want external shaft torque, then test a minimal chain such as Generic Engine -> Torque Sensor -> Transmission -> Load with a fixed normalized throttle of 1. After that works, add the AWD and DCT elements back one at a time. I would also double-check the engine parameter P_max, since 497 W looks unusually low for a vehicle engine model.
