How can I access a Simulink Real-Time (SLRT) Speedgoat target computer through a LTE router?

5 views (last 30 days)
I've been trying to establish connection with my Speedgoat target using an LTE router, but without success. Here is an diagram of my setup.
Port forwarding is based on the ports listed here. I am able to ping, reboot and update my target, but the connection fails, just like the problem described here. Everything seems to be configured properly (firewall, network), but I am running out of ideas. Using the same router, I was able to connect to the Speedgoat through the Wifi interface (which is disabled in the diagram). This was quite easy to test, since I was on the same network and it didn't involved port forwarding
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi William,
I understand that you are experiencing difficulties establishing a connection with your Speedgoat target through an LTE router. It is promising that you're able to ping, reboot, and update your target, as this indicates some level of connectivity. However, since the connection fails, it might be related to specific network configurations or port forwarding settings.
I recommend reviewing the following troubleshooting guide provided by MathWorks, which covers a wide range of potential issues and solutions: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/1622360-troubleshooting-connection-issues-with-speedgoat-target-computers.
In addition to the steps mentioned in the guide, I suggest you consider setting up a VPN. A VPN can bypass the need for port forwarding and help you determine if the issue is related to the router or any external factors like your Internet Service Provider (ISP) affecting UDP packet transmission. This method creates a secure, direct connection to your Speedgoat target, potentially simplifying the troubleshooting process.
A third-party VPN should work out of the box, but if it does not, the following resource may help fill any missing gaps: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/1900335-remote-access-to-a-simulink-real-time-speedgoat-target-through-vpn.
Hope this helps!
