PID Tuner App not open from Simulink PID Controller block?

Hello Everyone,

When I click on the Tune button, it starts linearization but PID tuner app does not open. I followed the suggested fixes in the following post but it was not fixing the issue:

However, when I open PID tuner outside of the simulink, it will open properly. Moreover, when no signal is connected to the PID controller, PID tuner app will show up. Is there any fix for this issue? Thanks

Hi Ali,

I see that you are trying to open the PID Tuner app from Simulink but are unable to do so. To reproduce the issue on my end, can you help me with the steps you have taken in modelling your simulation. Specifically, it would be helpful if you could share the model used and information about output on the command window or if you have set some specific parameters/settings.

Hello Ali,

I understand from your query that you need assistance with opening “PID Tuner” app when the “Tune” button is clicked within your model.

I assume that your model might have a discrete-time block. When the “PID controller” block is set to continuous but receives a discrete input, it will cause the “PID controller” block to be also discrete and it will not linearize properly. Since the model does not fully linearize, the app did not come up.

Kindly check the signals going into the “PID controller” block and make sure that they match with the settings within “PID controller”.
