I am attaching a spring to single acing cyclinder which convert hydraulic power to translational motion. Cylinder piston is later connected to a mechanical spring and ultimately to mechanical reference in series. I want to model spring such that for initial certain movement of piston for specific distance. Is there any alternative to hardstop in simscape. Facing errors with hardstop for kinds of model I am trying to build.

I understand that you want to convert hydraulic power to translational motion in Simscape.
Have a look at this model which is similar to your requirements:https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/38259-simple-hydraulic-system2?s_tid=srchtitle_support_results_1_attaching%20spring%20to%20cylinder%20in%20simscape
You can also use “Wheel and Axle” and “Rack & Pinion” for converting to translational motion. The documentation links are attached below:
Wheel and Axle:https://www.mathworks.com/help/simscape/ref/wheelandaxle.html
Rack & Pinion:https://www.mathworks.com/help/sdl/ref/rackpinion.html
Hope this helps!
