Matlab 2022a runtime installer does not work on MacOS

18 views (last 30 days)
For some reasons, I have to use Matlab 2022a on my MacOS Ventura 13.3 on apple silicon M1, I can install and use MATLAB successfully, but when I tried to install MATLAB runtime installer using installForMacOSX.app, it closes immediately after I open it. If I try to install it via terminal using ./install, it reports "installing... finish" very quickly. It doesn't ask anything like "preferred install path" etc, and I can tell it doesn't install at all (it should copy some files, but it doesn't). The downloaded installer from compiler.runtime.download is MATLAB_Runtime_R2022a_Update_6_maci64.zip
Could anyone help me with that? Thanks!

Hi Roy,
I can understand that you facing trouble downloading MATLAB runtime installer using installForMacOSX.app which immediately closes when you open it.
Make sure that your system meets the minimum system requirements for installing MATLAB Runtime Installer. MATLAB R2022a supports MacOS Catalina (10.15.7). For more information, please see our system requirement's page:
To know more about installing it from the Terminal, see the MATLAB documentation: Install Noninteractively - MATLAB & Simulink
If you are still experiencing an issue, please contact MathWorks support:
I hope this helps!

Thanks Shuba. I tried MATLAB R2022b also, which is explicitly listed as the support version of MacOS Ventura, but I'm still facing this issue. The link of install noninteractively does not help at all.

have the same issue, the non-iterative mathod doesn't recognize "-inputfile" option.
the "InstallForMacOSX.app" even doesn't run. have tried to download it multiple times but still failed.
it's the latest 2023a version, for M1 with monterey.
