I recently was trying to update by MATLAB 2022 version but an error occured during the instalation process, meaning that whenever I try to run the MATLAB 2022 I get an error ("Fatal Startup Error"). I decided to install the MATLAB 2023 version instead but wanted to delete this MATLAB 2022 version. Since I can not open it, I can not uninstall from the program. I tried deleting it from my files but I get a message saying "The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program". Does anyone have any advice so that I can delete this older version? Or if anyone knows what files may be common during two versions of MATLAB.

When you install a new version of MATLAB, whole new folder is created in 'Program Files' if you are using windows system; so there are no shared files. Best way would be uninstalling older version from 'Add or Remove Program' from settings. If that doesn't work you can try deleting folder of R2022x from 'Program Files' after restarting you PC.
