Goodmorning, When I search a block in the simulink's library browser my PC stop working if the block I want isn't found immediately. Simulink search the block in the entire library and it is very heavy for my PC... After 3 minute it has not finished yet and if I try to close library browser, all matlab/simulink crashes and than I must close all. There is a method for a "light" search in library browser? Or something to stop the research without close matlab/simulink? Many many Thanks, Max

That is the same problem I experienced very often. Although my computer didn't crash, the search was very slow and I am not aware if there is any way you can stop it in the middle.
I suggest you contact TMW and voice your complaint so they can improve it.
A little bit of explanation about this is that when you run Simulink for the first time, not all the model libraries are loaded at once. If you have quite some toolbox libraries, when you do the search, it will need to load those library one at a time and then search the block in the library. When you do another search for the second time, it will be much faster.

I know of changes in the last years. What release and OS is that?

I am using R2007b and Windows XP. It didn't crash. It's just slow. I don't use search often. I know all the blocks by heart! :)

There were two bugs reported ( 449905 and 456012 ) and fixed some time ago.
I also know that at one point in team checking licenses caused issues when the product was installed for all users, but not licensed for all users (which happens often at larger companies and universities).

So then check out my notes. Looks they might apply.
