Is there any similar element in FACTS controller as capacitor for power loss minimization in distribution system

by optimal placement of capacitor we can reduce the power losses in the distribution system but is there any similar element in FACTS device most similar to this task.

In general Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) can works more similar to capacitor but the thyristor switching helps to improve the functioning. The ratings of TCSC and capacitor may differ in the distribution system in the power loss minimization function.
