i have this image of a wound on the leg ..i need a code to extract only wound part ie., the injured part as the image..I am not able to extract this region of interest..any help???

First of all, get rid of other stuff like background so that your initial ROI is just skin, not background clutter. Then I'd take a color channel, like the blue channel, and run a texture filter like stdfilt() or entropyfilt() on it. High texture areas will give a high signal. After that, it depends on exactly what you mean by "extract". Please describe your ambiguous use of this term. Do you want to extract out the bounding box of this image into another image? Do you want to mask the image so that only the wound shows up and all else is black? Do you want to make measurements like area, perimeter, and texture on it? Do you have some other definition?

I need to show only the wound part maybe using segmentation and then classify it using fuzzy c .this should be possible for any kind of images .i need an automatic code for this.I've attached another image .I should be able to classify the different tissue layers after segmentation .Or if someone could help by providing the slough analyzes algorithm.plz reply
