Why are all the "warning boxes" blank?
Show older comments
Hi,
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and Matlab R2014b. All warning boxes which typicall appear above incorrect code, are gray and blank. What can I do to correct this problem? Already checked the Colors section in Preferences, but there seems to be nothing which is connected to the warning boxes.

Do you mean like when you call warndlg()? If that's not it, then attach a screenshot because I don't know what "warning boxes" are. Do you mean the popup tooltip strings? If so, I think that's an operating system setting, not MATLAB.

I see to recall this was connected to Unity.

I can confirm that this issue persists on Matlab 2015b in OpenSuse Leap 42.1.
The suggestion of moving the editor to a different monitor did not resolve the issue.

To my knowledge, this is a long standing problem with java. I can't seem to find an exact link right now.
I have the issue in Fedora 23 using Gnome

No solution or was answered somewhere else?
Same problem with R2017a, CentOS 7.1, Gnome 3.
