How to plot with no line

I wish to plot a graph with no line so I could identify the gap. It would look like similar to figure below where there is a gap since there are missing data. Hope, someone can provide information by using the toolbar in the figure section in Figure Matlab.

The question is not clear. What is "a plot with no line"?

Here is the code, I hope you can provide infomation on how to plot with no line so I can identify the missing data.

Here is the code for ploting x vs.y asix with red color with no line .
plot(x,y,"r*")
