If I have Matlab 2018 open on my Mac powerbook, even when I am not running a script or have it "hidden" , Matlab will pop up in front of other applications including Powerpoint in presentation mode. Why does it do this and how can I stop it?

Hey Jamie,
I understand that you are facing the issue of MATLAB popping up in front of other applications even when you are not using it.
I am assuming the pop-ups to which you're referring are related to figures’ in MALTAB, as similar issues have been reported by other users. There are two workarounds for this:
  • Set the ‘WindowState’ property to ‘minimized’.
  • Set the figure visibility to ‘off.
Please refer the following MATLAB answers threads that discuss this issue with workarounds for the same in detail.
Hope this helps!
