I write L' but in the command window it writes ans. Why?

			To put it easily: 
If you operate on a variable or matrix (e.g. transpose L), this new expression is not alligned to an already existing variable and its name. So you will get "ans" for it in the command window. 
If you do
Ltransp = L'
"Ltransp" instead of "ans" will appear.
