app designer painting circles and arrows

Hello, i am trying to build an app with lots of fields. but i want to circle some of them.

and put arrows between fields,

is there a way to do it?

i could not find an option like this in app builder

You might need to use an axes to have a background image.

Normally, you should be able to use annotation objects to produce arrows and such, but not with a uifigure() it seems.

Since AppDesigner works with uifigures internally, the annotation objects DGM mentioned are not available. You could switch to writing your GUI yourself. For general advice and examples for how to create a GUI, have look at this thread.

I you want to keep using AppDesigner, it is probably the easiest to insert an axes under your other components, which would allow you to use many other tools (or even draw a picture by hand and use that).

axes is a general purpose container. If you use imshow that will also end up in an axes object. So if you can't get the result you want with the tools Matlab allows, you can use paint to create an image and use that as a background.
