Can matlab 2012b run on windows 11?

87 views (last 30 days)
The program I am working with can only be run on matlab 2012b (or earlier). As my windows is asking me to update from win10 to win11, I am worried about if matlab 2012b can still work on win11. Does anybody have tried that?

No.
Only R2021b and later releases support Windows 11. See Platform Road Map for the MATLAB and Simulink Product Families , noting the R2012b (and anything older than R2019b) are not even listed.
I am running R2021b on Windows 11 without problems. It has supported Windows 11 since late December 2021.

Thanks for replying. You are correct that the error comes from the handle, but unfortunatelly I am given permission to use the code by the developer so I cannot post the code here, plus the code is actually belonging to a program - which means it's very long. As long as windows still support windows 10 I'm fine using this version to run MATLAB 2012b so I guess I will be fine for another couple of years. I will let the developer know about this issue and they should determine whether and how they are going to fix it.
Again, thanks for helping and have a nice day!

As always, my plesaure!
You, too!
I was going to link to the Release Notes for R2014b so the developer can understand what changes need to be made, however they are no longer posted online. It would be best to Contact Support and request them specifically, explaining what the problem is. There was also documentation about the changes that need to be made to graphics calls to update them, so it would be best to request that as well to send to the developer. The changes are not trivial, however they are not difficult.
