Matlab code - can anyone guide me how to sort this kind of error, I am new to MATLAB and trying to create an interface for a audio listening experiment

you need to add a CreateFcn and rename it to Play_CreatFcn instead of just pusbutton1_Callback for the pushbutton. The CreateFcn function for the pushbutton Play is missing
It seems you have added Pushbutton object in your GUI and changed its name tag to Play using the property inspector
So, when you run GUI. it searches for the CreateFcn with same name tag as that of Callback function
