I want to update my Matlab 2021b to update1. When running `sudo matlab`, the matlab kept crashed. All work well if I did not use sudo or root. Below is the crash report:

This is caused by a bug and our developers are aware about it and will try to fix it in future releases.

Any news? Can't run Matlab because of this issue and I need sudo access for my script to run. Purging and reinstalling fixes it for a run or two, then it starts again, it's not a sustainable solution.

@Sheng Yang I have the same problem. FYI it's possible to update with the terminal by going to :
<matlabInstallPath>/bin/glnxa64/
and running :
sudo ./update_installer
If nothing shows you may need to run :
xhost +SI:localuser:root
before running the installer.

xhost +SI:localuser:root did the trick for me

I had this issue as well. A solution was to run as "sudo -u USERNAME matlab", where USERNAME is the name of the non-root user.

I have this in version R2022a and Ubuntu 20.04. Any solutions yet? @Sivani Pentapati
