It looks from this chart of system requirements that R2021b is the only version to be compatible with Monterey.

The link above only lists

"Operating Systems

• macOS Big Sur (11)

• macOS Catalina (10.15)"

for 2021b

Monterey was not mentioned

but this link claims 2022a works with Monterey, though I'm having problems running SPM on it
