MATLAB 2021B Freezing on M1 Macbook Air

MATLAB on my M1 macbook air is always feezing and gives the spinning wheel of death after an extended period of time(~30ish min). Everything is fully updated and I have tried to make an alias on the desktop (to no avail) and it continues to feeze after some time. I recently got this laptop and never had an issue with my PC with MATLAB so it makes sense that it is an issue between MATLAB and macOS?
Is there any way to fix this issue?

Hi Jacob,
You can refer the following troubleshooting steps->
- Increase the Heap Size allocated to MATLAB. You can find this in MATLAB->Preferences->General->Java Heap Memory.
- Uninstall MATLAB and do a fresh install after removing all the related folders and temporary files.
- Upgrade to the latest version of MATLAB.
- Also you can monitor system resources while running MATLAB, to see if it is getting out of resources.
