How can a breaker be turned off right at an instant when the current through it is zero.

1 view (last 30 days)
I am doing a matlab project where a breaker is to be turned off only when the current through it is zero. I used a 'HitCross'block which would detect the zero crossing of the current signal. However, the block could not operate more than a second in an acceleration mode of Matlab 2013b, whereas the project's time is a lot more than that. Would it be any other way to control the breaker???

You can use a thyristor. It is automatically switched off when the current through it is zero.
