Modbus Support from Industrial Communication Toolbox:
Since MATLAB R2022a, modbus functionality (over TCP/IP or Serial RTU) is available from Industrial Communication Toolbox. Prior to that, in MATLAB R2017a to R2021b, modbus was available in Instrument Control Toolbox.
When using the 'modbus' functionality, MATLAB running on your computer acts as a Modbus client, and your equipment acts as a Modbus server. For more information, see:
Starting from R2024b, there are also Modbus Client blocks available for Simulink. For more information, see:
Modbus Support from Simulink Real-Time:
Modbus is also supported with Simulink Real-Time and Speedgoat hardware. Simulink Real-Time is ideal for rapid control prototyping of industrial devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and hardware-in-the-loop simulations for testing industrial equipment such as motor controllers. Instrument Control Toolbox added support for MODBUS in R2017a. Take a look at the functionality documented here.
