Join our team to help shape the way the engineers develop robust control systems using Model-Based Design and simulation.  Apply your knowledge of Verification and Validation, Systems Engineering, and Continuous Integration (CI) to help automotive customers advance their ability to develop and verify their systems.

In this pre-sales technical role, you will collaborate with engineers across multiple industries to understand their technical and business challenges. You will propose innovative solutions that leverage MathWorks software for the development, verification, and implementation of control system algorithms. This role requires a passion for solution selling, complemented by technical expertise in architecting models for verification and validation, implementing continuous integration, and developing software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing and virtualization approaches.

This position is based in Novi, MI, with travel expected up to 25% across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagements with prospective customers to understand their workflows and recommend effective solutions.
  • Design and develop demonstrations, including programs, application examples, and simulations, to showcase how MathWorks solutions address customers' virtual testing needs, both locally and within CI pipelines.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations and demonstrations to audiences of varying sizes.
  • Partner with sales representatives to provide technical guidance and develop successful selling strategies.
  • Advocate for the evolution of MathWorks products by collaborating with development and marketing teams to address customer needs for Verification and Validation (V&V) solutions, including testing models and code, design error checks, standards compliance, coverage measurement, and system validation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both group and individual settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Model-Based Design using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience in developing and testing production algorithms and software.
  • Proficiency in building Simulink models for functional and structural testing.
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis and test coverage methods.
  • Understanding of formal verification and validation methods is a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or DO-178 is desirable.
  • Strong engineering skills in control design, systems engineering, signal processing, verification and validation, and software development.
  • MS or Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
