Circuit analysis is the fundamental gateway course for computer and electrical engineering majors. In the 11th edition of Basic Engineering, Irwin and Nelms continue to develop a complete set of pedagogical tools that support students entering into this complex subject. Irwin and Nelm's student-centered learning design focuses on helping students complete the connection between theory and practice. Key concepts are explained and illustrated by examples. These examples are followed by learning assessments, which allow students to work similar problems and check their results against the answers provided.
In order to provide maximum flexibility, solved examples are available in online supplements that use programs such as MATLAB. These examples are all based on problems in the text, and any or all of them can be integrated into custom editions of the text.
