HMM for tracking hidden states from spike trains of many neurons (even with overlapping or multiple spikes per time bin).
This is set of slightly modified algorithms use to train HMMs for the purposes of decoding hidden states generating neural spike trains. The goal of this project is to modify the HMM so that even if there are multiple spikes per time bin (from one or more neurons), the HMM can handle this without an exponentially increasing number of symbols.
