Two recent papers provide psychophysical evidence that square pie charts have the least amount of error in subjective perception of quantity. See: https://eagereyes.org/papers/a-pair-of-pie-chart-papers for more information. This function uses the same structure as the matlab function "pie" to make square pie charts.
