Main features of mask_explorer are:
1) Estimation of binary masks
2) Computation, exploration, and export of valid subject counts image and binary group mask
3) Estimation of outlier masks in dataset
4) Creating list of suitable/unsuitable data in relation of positions and ROIs of our interest and export this data to text file or Microsoft Excel file. Coverage of ROIs by masks is also included.
5) Creating and loading list of positions of interest
6) Compare of valid subject counts image with NIFTI file
7) Using different background templates specified by user
Mask_explorer is able to compute subject’s masks. Loaded masks or images are used to create parametric map. Its values show number of datasets with valid information. Tool is able to automatically find outlying masks and to report masks with insufficient coverage in relation to specified ROIs or positions.
Software was written in MATLAB environment (The MathWorks Inc., Natick, MA, US in version 8.6.0.267246 (R2015b)) and uses parts of toolbox SPM12 (version 6225). It was also tested in version R2012b, R2013b, R2014b. The tool was tested under 32-bit and 64-bit Windows system (Microsoft Corporation, Redmont, WA, US). The toolbox uses several functions of Statistical Parametric Mapping toolbox 12 (SPM12, http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/software/spm12/) and it is compatible with older versions SPM8 and SPM12b. It is freeware under GNU GPL v2 license, accessible on NITRC website (http://www.nitrc.org/projects/mask_explorer).
