SimArray - Acoustic Field Simulator

Simulate focused phased-array acoustic fields in MATLAB using Rayleigh–Sommerfeld integration with interactive visualization.

You are now following this Submission

SimArray is a MATLAB graphical application for simulating the acoustic field generated by focused phased-array ultrasound transducers.
The app uses a discretized Rayleigh–Sommerfeld formulation to calculate the contribution of multiple circular transducer elements to the resulting pressure field. Element-center coordinates are loaded from an external text, CSV, or DAT file, allowing the simulator to work with arbitrary phased-array geometries.
Users can define the main acoustic and transducer parameters, including sound speed, medium density, attenuation, excitation frequency, normal surface displacement, transducer curvature radius, aperture, element radius, and the desired electronic focal position. Individual element phases are then calculated automatically to obtain constructive interference at the selected focus.
SimArray provides interactive longitudinal and transverse field maps, with the visualization planes automatically adapted to the selected focal position. Results can be displayed as peak acoustic pressure, complex RMS pressure magnitude, or acoustic intensity.
Computed fields can be exported as MATLAB .mat files for further analysis and visualization, while individual field maps can also be saved as high-resolution PNG images.
The app is intended as a simple research and educational tool for studying phased-array focusing, acoustic-field distributions, and ultrasound transducer configurations without requiring users to modify the underlying simulation code.
The graphical application loads the SimArray logo provided below. Name it as Simarray_header_mark.png
