Multi-phase induction motor
Version 1.0.0 (48.6 KB) by
Abdelrahman Farghly
A multi-phase induction motor is an AC motor with more than three stator phases, typically 5-phase or 6-phase
Control and Drive
To operate a multi-phase induction motor:
- You need a multi-phase inverter (e.g., 5-leg inverter for a 5-phase motor)
- PWM control must be adapted (e.g., space vector PWM for multi-phase systems)
- Control strategies may include:
- Scalar control (V/f)
- Vector control
- Direct torque control
