Generate synthetic test images of resistors

A tool to generate synthetic images of resistors. Depending on how cruel you are, you may find this useful for creating student projects.

This submission includes two tools.

getresistor() returns resistance values in the specified IEC 60063 E-series.

makeresistor() generates an image of a resistor, which may be useful for developing resistor decoding projects based on image processing.

A simple demo file is also included.

makeresistor can generate simple images with consistent color/geometry and uniform illumination

... or it can generate images where any (or all) of multiple parameters can be randomly varied.

If you want a segmentation challenge, it can unnecessarily degrade the image as is so popular.

By default, the images also have their parameter values encoded directly in the image, allowing simple decoder testing. The synopsis and demo file provide examples for extracting this simple payload.

This set of tools requires MIMT, Image Processing Toolbox, and R2015a or newer.
