Simscape model of the transverse vibration of a flexible tensioned string.
These files model the transverse vibrations of a tensioned flexible string following the theory described in Garrett [1]. A seven segment model is shown here.
A Simscape Code file is provided that implements a ten-segment version a piece of a longer string. These model may be cascaded to make models woth more segments. A 40-segment string model is provided. That model created the string displacement movie below. The string is first pulled at the center to its starting position, then released fi vibrate freely.
