Solving 3D truss by stiffness matrix method
The Stiffness method provides a systematic way of analyzing determinate and indeterminate structures. These local(member) force-displacement relationships can be quickly established for ALL the members in the truss simply by using the different members' given material and geometric properties.
By using this code, you can quickly obtain the stresses, displacements, stiffness matrices, and support reactions of the desired truss by entering the specifications of your 3D truss in an Excel file. Furthermore, in the end, the deformed shape of the truss under the applied loads is displayed.
The software includes an Excel file for 25 and 120 members truss by default.
The results for these two trusses are as follows:
