Say you downloaded a plot (as an image) from a journal publication. You can plot your results/data on the downloaded image using this script

Using this script, you can plot your data on top of an image. The diplay picture of this thread shows a sample output.
The script works even when the axes scaling is 'log'.
The script works only for 2D rectangular plots.
There are 5 steps in the script. The steps are very well commented. In case, you still need help, type your question in the discussion tab.
