Feedmon was developed as an image analysis system to monitor small animal feeding behavior. It takes a series of images containing one or more behavioral arenas and permits the monitoring of multiple food item consumption over time within each arena. The only requirement is that the food items be of high contrast with the arena background. An included readme file explains its operation in detail.
This software has been described in: Rowley, M., J. P. Stitt and F. E. Hanson (2003). "Image analysis of small animal feeding behavior." Behavior Research Methods, Instruments, & Computers 35(3): 447-451.
