imresize provides image with borders of zero value

Hello, When using imresize for more that 3 times (I am building a gaussian pyramid) it starts given the downsampled image with 2 borders with zeros, it is independent of the interpolation method, does someone have some idea about the reason?. The downsampled image size is correct but considering the bunch of zeros around
