Perhaps it's corrupt or perhaps a newer release of MATLAB will work. Upload the file if you want someone with a current release to try it.

experiment with renaming to a shorter file name.

Please provide the results of:

ncdisp('yourfilename.nc')

I guess the variable you want to read, has another name in the original file.

The error message is about not being able to open the file, which is a problem that happens before you try to read data from the file. ncdisp() will not help.

I tried running the code above, it says(attached below), however the file exists and has a size of 165 MB.

you did not copy my code exactly.

To adjust my code change

filename = dinfo(1).name;

to

filename = fullfile(dinfo(1).folder, dinfo(1).name) ;

Also your earlier directory had only 1 nc file in it, but the location you point to now has 9 nc files in it.
